My Dream Came True!

I know you’re all sitting on the edge of your seat wondering how my meeting with Dave went. Here it is in a nutshell: he came over to us (there were only 15) after he introduced the opening act. We stood in a U shape backstage, with Travis and I in the center. I did tear up when Dave came over to talk to us. The only words I could spit out were, “I’m so sorry I’m crying. I’ve just waited 12 years for this!” Dave was so very kind – he hugged and held me as tears were rolling down my face. He replied with, “It’s ok. I understand – not necessarily for me, but it’s a good thing to have that much joy!” I gave him several gifts specifically from Indiana (a couple books, a postcard of James Dean’s grave). I was barely able to hand him the items my hands were shaking so much. After he went around and talked with everyone, we took a group picture for the fan club website (Dave stood next to me!). He waved at the group, winked at me, and was whisked away to go warm up for the show. He mingled with us for around 35 minutes total. It was great!

In the pictures, you can see Dave looking directly at me, not paying much attention to Travis. I'm having difficulty uploading them right now, but as soon as I can, I will.
